After a hard-fought twelve rounds, ‘2 Guns’ Wright took the super-welterweight spoils 116-112 and 115-113, whilst a third saw it 112-116 for DeLuca.

Also stateside, Vergil Ortiz defeated ex-world champion Juan Carlos Salgado via third round stoppage, whilst Hector Tanajara improved to 14-0 in chief support.

Over in Spain, the heavyweight hailed by manager Mehdi Ameur as ‘The New Klitschko’, Christian Thun wasted no time pummelling his latest victim into submission.

The 26 year-old halted the experienced Davit Gogishvili in the opening session to make it two wins from two as a pro. In the co-main event, Sandor Martin knocked out Jorge Moreno in four rounds.

At Emperors Palace in South Africa, Thulani Mbenge picked up the vacant IBO welterweight title when halting Argentinian Diego Chaves in seven rounds, whilst in Canada, Steven Butler did likewise to the seasoned campaigner Carson Jones.
