Josh Taylor v Viktor Postol fight week is here

Fight week in Glasgow will include an open workout featuring both Taylor and Postol, plus undercard boxers, at the St. Enoch Centre in the city centre at 1pm on Wednesday June 20th.

Both men will have their final say before Saturday’s big fight at the final press conference on Thursday June 21st at the Hilton Glasgow Grosvenor hotel, which commences at 1pm.

Then the pre-fight parade returns to the St. Enoch Centre at 1pm on Friday June 22nd for the official weigh-in. All fight week events will be open to the public.

Next Saturday’s huge bill at the SSE Hydro will now feature an array of local talent including Airdrie-based Congolese Heavyweight sensation Martin Bakole, who will defend his IBO Continental Heavyweight strap against England’s big DL Jones.

Edinburgh’s talented Lee McGregor bids for his first title when he takes on Tanzania’s dangerous Goodluck Mrema for the vacant IBF Youth Bantamweight title on the June 23rd show, while stablemate Chantelle Cameron defends her IBO Female World Lightweight title against Malawi’s hard-punching contender Ruth Chisale.

Barrhead’s undefeated super bantamweight prospect Gary Rae returns to action on the Taylor vs Postol undercard when he takes on Nicaragua’s teak-tough Johnson Tellez over six-rounds, and Edinburgh’s undefeated Celtic Super Middleweight champ Tommy Philbin returns to action in a six-round contest.

There will also be a professional debut on the big Hydro bill when Glenrothes former Scottish amateur champion Eftychia Kathopouli makes her professional bow over four-rounds at super featherweight.
