Eric Molina HEADS HOME from airport, Mariusz Wach fight IN DOUBT due to SUSPENSION reports

Molina had posted a worrying warning on social media that the fight could be cancelled if travel plans didn’t fall into place after reports surfaced of a possible suspension for an adverse drug test finding.

The 36 year-old has initially stated: “Alright we are all clear in NY. My team and I are packed and ready.

“If we don’t fly out in the next 10 hours Wach v Molina will not happen. It is a matter of rebooking flights now. I did my part,” he said.

When asked by WBN if the fight was on some hours later, Molina replied: “Yes, everything is going ahead and I will fly out to Poland today.”

Just minutes after confirming his intentions to make the trip, news brokes of a UKAD ban handed down to Molina from his fight with Anthony Joshua and he swiftly made a u-turn to head home.

WBN has been told Molina will defend himself in a forthcoming article to protest the suspension.

The ‘Drummer Boy’ hasn’t fought since losing to Dominic Breazeale in a WBC eliminator last November, and like Wach, needed a victory to get back into title contention.

Wach also suffered defeat in his previous bout against Jarrell Miller but it’s unclear whether a replacement will be drafted in for the event at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw.

Topping the bill is a Women’s WBC super-welterweight title clash between Ewa Piatkowska and Maria Lindberg, whilst the card also features Robert Talarek, Izuagbe Ugonoh facing Fred Kassi, Artur Szplika battling Dominick Guinn and former European title holder Rafael Jackiewicz.
