As Mayweather headed to Toronto on the last leg of a tour around the globe to support Badou Jack in his WBC title bid, Woodley staged a social media fan session in which he confirmed their training partnership start date.

Speaking about Mayweather, Woodley said during a Q & A: “Yeah, I’m training Floyd. I just talked to Floyd. He was in Singapore (last week, and) somewhere else. I just talked to him a couple of days ago. So when he gets back in town next week, me and him are going to start training,” he confirmed.

Just days later, Mayweather gave FightHype.com an exclusive video interview and was coy regarding his future.

Asked on Thursday whether he would make a comeback, he told FightHype.com: “No, no, no. If I wanted to comeback, the billion dollar man can come back, make a few fights and a billion dollars is possible.”

Pushed whether 51-0 was on the cards, he added: “We never know, Floyd ‘Money’ Mayweather is my name, but I’m not coming back.”

It wasn’t abundantly clear as to whether Mayweather was discussing a boxing return when denying any notion of another bout, with Woodley fully expecting to begin coaching the 40 year-old in the coming days.

A rematch with Conor McGregor has been in the pipeline since their match-up in the squared circle last August, with the Irishman putting off any return to UFC until the Mayweather saga is over.

‘The Notorious’ one was even stripped of his lightweight belt for failing to follow through with a mandatory defense and thus far has no plans to fight in 2018.
