Chris Brackin to fight Dan Beverly on May 26 at Tweed Heads

The all action Brackin will take on rugged Nambucca Heads fighter Dan Beverly at Tweed Heads on May 26.

Beverly is a well known commodity in the Garden City having faced Queensland Champion Steven Spark and Australian champion Brent Rice in the past.

Brackin is quickly making a name for himself as an all action fighter undefeated in three bouts, two coming by way of stoppage.

“I’m excited by this opportunity to fight Dan Beverly,” Chris Brackin said.

“I’m keen to keep active and progressing my career, this bout is an opportunity to do that.

“It will be my first fight away from Toowoomba as well.

“Dan Beverly is an all action fighter himself, he comes forward, he likes to mix it up so on paper it should be a fans fight.

“I believe I’ve learned a lot in my first three fighters and I think that will hold me in good stead for this bout.

“I have faith in my ability and the team around me so if I do everything right hopefully that leads to another win on May 26.”

Meanwhile stable mate Brent Moore will also be in action in May taking on Matt Hartmann This Saturday (May 19) at Caboolture.

Hartmann will be stepping into the ring for the fourth time and so far in his career has one win one loss and one draw.

Moore will be stepping up for his ninth pro fight.

“I’m looking forward to kick starting my year against Matt Hartmann,” Moore said.

“I’ve had some time off after back to back bouts with Maks Chylewski last year and I’m raring to go.

“I have to go into his backyard but that doesn’t phase me I’ve been well traveled in my career so far and at the end of the day when the bell rings it doesn’t really matter.

“It’s just me and him and the best man will win.”

Capping off a busy few weeks exciting young pro Jaydii Kalambe will have his second pro fight against Kyle Freiberg on May 26 on the Worlds Collide 7 card in Brisbane.

Kalambe turned heads with an action packed unanimous decision victory over Josh Gordan in his pro debut on

Freiberg is in the same boat as Kalambe with one pro fight under his belt for one win.

“This is a good test for Jaydii in his second pro fight,” Trainer/Manager Brendon Smith said.

“Jayddi showed a lot of raw talent in his pro debut and he learned a lot from that night.

“This is a good evenly matched fight and hopefully if Jayddi fights to the best of his ability that’s good enough to get him the win.”

It’s also a busy period for the Smithy’s TGW Gym amateur team with five fighters taking part in the South Queensland titles this weekend.
