The Ultimate Boxxer tournament takes place Friday 27th April at the Manchester Arena, a one-night knockout competition filled with UK undefeated prospects in the welterweight division.

Ex-European champion Hatton has one of his fighters participating and gave WBN an update on his chances.

“First up we’ve got Andy Kremner who’s in the Ultimate Boxxer which is on Friday. It’s a tournament very similar to Prizefighter,” Hatton exclusively told World Boxing News.

“Andy’s been with me just over a year now and we’ve had two fights together, he’s coming on all the time. He’s an excellent fighter with a great engine and has a chance coming up to get himself recognised. The Ultimate Boxxer is a great opportunity for him.”

The tournament consists of 3 x 3-minute rounds for three stages. The draw for the quarter finals revealed the match up of Andy Kremner vs. Isaac Macleod, a match-up many wished to see in the final, which Hatton agreed with.

“He’s drawn Isaac Macleod in the first fight who is one of the favourites going into the tournament, I think you’d make Andy one of the favourites as well. It would have been a great final, to be honest, but it is what it is.

“Andy’s a very capable fighter and I’m confident he’s got an excellent chance of doing very well in that tournament and possibly winning it.”

Asked if Isaac Macleod is his toughest fight, Hatton responded: “For me and this is no way disrespectful to the other boxers that are in the tournament but on paper, they are the two best fighters, Andy and Isaac.

“If you’d of asked me who we would have liked to avoid, it’d probably be Isaac and I’m sure if you asked their camp, they’d say exactly the same for the fighter they’d like to avoid it would be Andy.”

Hatton concluded by supporting his man to win and expressing his excitement for the tournament.

“You’ve got to beat anyone who’s in the tournament and like I said Andy is a very capable fighter and I think he’s got a good chance of winning the fight and the tournament.

“It’s going to be really exciting; not just as a trainer but as a boxing fan, I’m looking forward to it, it should be a good night,” said Hatton.
