Close to Comeback! – Tyson Fury pictured in solid shape posing at Ricky Hatton’s Gym

The 27 year-old looked close to fighting shape as he enjoyed a sparring session at Hatton’s Hyde Gym this week.

Fury is plotting a monumental return to the ring following an absence of two and a half years, and judging by this evidence, could be shaking off the cobwebs by June.

‘The Gypsy King’ last fought when out-pointing Wladimir Klitschko in Dusseldorf, Germany to take the WBO, IBO, IBF and WBA belt, all of which have since been gobbled up by arch-rival Anthony Joshua.

Since then, Fury has enjoyed months of excess out of the ring and admitted suffering depression, but stands on the verge of getting back into the mix in the glamour division.

Many believe Fury is the future of the heavyweight weight class provided he can stay in shape, with only Joshua and WBC ruler Deontay Wilder on his radar.

Obviously, Fury needs to prove himself in a couple of interim contests before plotting any said regaining of his old status despite being vocal in his desire to fight Joshua now.

Joshua is currently in negotiations with Wilder for a huge undisputed unification before having mandatories versus Alexander Povetkin (WBO and WBA) and Dillian Whyte or Kubrat Pulev (IBF) to deal with.

An all-UK battle between Joshua and ‘2 Fast’ is a real probability for late 2019 or even the summer of 2020, when the pair will still be relatively fresh and young at the age of 29.

With much to demonstrate in the meantime, Fury is on the right tracks and has given himself the perfect base to begin his mission for redemption.
