As Higgins prepares to join Parker and trainer Kevin Barry in the UK for the March 31 clash, the Duco boss says the New Zealander is in the perfect frame of mind.

“I think that I should state for the record that Joseph Parker is not the slightest bit worried about fighting in the UK in front of eighty thousand, not one little bit,” Higgins exclusively told World Boxing News.

“Joseph fought in Germany on the Wladimir Klitschko card before he fought in the United States, but more importantly, he’s unflappable. He’s a calm guy and he doesn’t care (about the crowd).

“At the end of the day, it’s a boxing ring so for us we’re not worried where the fight is and Joseph Parker isn’t worried at all. It’s purely a matter of preparing for Anthony Joshua

“I can say this is one of the best camps Joseph’s ever had. Trainer Kevin Barry is doing a wonderful job and physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually Joseph is on the absolute top of his game.

“I mean ahead of his last two or three fights there are definite differences and things are really on song. I think that Anthony Joshua team are making a grave mistake if they are thinking beyond this fight.”

On the final details being worked out, Higgins added: “Joseph is out there a fortnight prior and I will be there a little less than that, maybe more a week out.

“We will be up there and around just making sure things are in order. I will be doing my job in terms of preparation and venue, plus officials and will do a bit of media, whereas Joseph will continue training right up to the fight and obviously acclimatize to the time zone.

“He will also do a bit of media but we’re on the home straight now and I’m excited about it,” he added.
