Exclusive: Anthony Fowler predicts big KO’s in Amir Khan fights versus Phil Lo Greco and Kell Brook

In recent years, it has been hard not to mention Brook’s name aside Khan’s and vice versa, although the fight has always looked unlikely due to boxing politics and the fighters being with different promoters.

Amir Khan’s surprise move to Eddie Hearn’s Matchroom stable – the same stable as Kell Brook, has moved the fight one step closer to reality.

Brook bounced back from two consecutive defeats against WBN Fighter of the Year Gennady Golovkin and American sensation Errol Spence Jr, with an explosive two round KO of Sergey Rabchenko.

Khan has been out of the ring since being brutally knocked out by Canelo Alvarez in 2016.

Fowler spoke about the fight in an exclusive interview with WBN as Khan prepares to return action next month against Canadian Phil Lo Greco.

“I see Khan with a big KO in Liverpool April 23rd, and I see one more fight for him in the summer and I see a big massive grudge match at the end of the year with Brook,” Fowler exclusively told World Boxing News.

Discussing how big a factor weight could be in a potential fight, Fowler said: “It’ll be interesting to see what weight he fights at and if its 147lb it suits Khan.

“If its 154lb it would suit Brook or maybe they can meet in the middle at 150lb or something.

“It would be a fair fight, but I think Brook hits a bit hard for Khan and he wins it.”

Fowler rather reluctantly predicted that the fight wouldn’t go to the judge’s scorecards.

“Yeah I think it would be a KO, I like Amir, I would be sad to see Amir knocked out but I think Brook is the fresher fighter.

“He’s boxed more recently with GGG and Spence and been active in the gym, whereas Khan has had a two-year absence,” Fowler concluded.

Fowler is next boxing at the O2 in London on the undercard of the Dillian Whyte v Lucas Browne bill and will be out again on the undercard Khan v Lo Greco in his hometown of Liverpool 23rd April.
