Usyk faces Mairis Briedis this weekend in Riga, Latvia in what the Olympic gold medallist expects to be the first part of his domination at 200 pounds.
A win gives the Ukrainian a spot in the World Boxing Super Series final in the spring and could see him leave the tournament as a four-belt champion.
Campaigning at heavyweight would then be a distinct possibility in the latter part of 2018 or early 2019, before talk begins of a potential challenge against current divisional king Anthony Joshua.
Asked his thoughts on the fight, Usyk was cautious not the get ahead of himself despite stating it was in his plans.
“I will (fight Anthony Joshua) but let’s wait for a while,” Usyk exclusively told Sky Sports.
“I will move up to heavyweight and show them all how good I am. I think you can see yourself, I will fight him. Not yet though.
“But it is a question everybody keeps asking me, so once we go face to face, we will find out. It will be good.”
On the prospect of heading to the UK to battle Joshua at a football stadium, Usyk added: “First of all, I like Britain because that is where boxing was born.
“The fans over there still follow me and watch me, so I will always try and show them my best.”
An impressive display in the WBSS Quarter-Final against Marco Huck cemented Usyk’s position as the pre-competition favourite, whilst Briedis holds the WBC version and home advantage for this weekend’s contest.
