The 29 year old is currently training for a comeback in the spring of 2018 and is now a step closer to being sanctioned to fight on UK soil.
A BBBofC statement released to WBN read: “Following an interview with Tyson Fury at the British Boxing Board of Control offices earlier today, the suspension of his British Boxing Board of Control boxer’s licence will be lifted subject to receipt and clearance of all medical requirements.”
Fury will be subjected to mental, physical and possible drugs tests before being allowed to box again under the British Board’s banner.
Promoter Frank Warren made the application and is expected to oversee Fury’s return to action, potentially against a lesser-ranked opponent in April or May.
Should Fury be successful, bigger tests lie in wait before a massive clash with Anthony Joshua, Manuel Charr or Deontay Wilder further down the line.
