Rumor mill: Alexander v Ortiz / Khan v Broner / Jacobs v O’Sullivan

Alexander had a warm-up against Walter Castillo back in November after returning from some personal problems but is deemed ready to step-up his opposition.

An official announcement could be made over the next 24 hours as Ortiz prepares to fight for only the second time in two years.

In a surprising rumor, Amir Khan is being linked to a possible clash with Adrien Broner in the United States this spring despite the Briton outlining previously his intentions to fight in the UK.

Khan recently spent some time in the jungle on a TV show for ITV in a bid to shake off consistent reports of marital troubles.

Without a contest since May 2016, Khan was expected to battle a domestic rival, potentially in London or the North of England in April or May, although should a solid offer come to trade blows with Broner it could prove too good to turn down.

In further whispers, Danny Jacobs has been touted for a possible collision with Gary ‘Spike’ O’Sullivan in a match-up that would make complete sense for both.

Jacobs, now represented by Matchroom Boxing, is pushing for a big money fight against the winner of Gennady Golovkin v Canelo Alvarez or with WBO ruler Billy Joe Saunders and going up against O’Sullivan would be a solid move.

O’Sullivan has impressed himself of late and would certainly be accepting of a Jacobs offer in a bid to stay on course for a title chance.
