Floyd Mayweather dismisses UFC talk, Conor McGregor disappointed

White had said contract negotiations were ongoing about taking Mayweather over to the UFC, although Mayweather wasted no time in backtracking on a potential agreement.

“If I made over a billion dollars before, I could do it again,” Mayweather told FightHype.

“If I chose to get in the UFC and fight three fights or fight four fights and then fight Conor McGregor, I could make a billion dollars, which I can.

“I could do it in three fights or even four fights, I could make a billion dollars if I choose to get in the octagon and fight.

“We just don’t know what the future holds for Floyd Mayweather – I’m just saying I could. I’m not doing it, but I’m saying what I could do to make a billion dollars quick.

“Would and could do is different things, I’m not going to do it though.”

Conor McGregor already gave his reaction by labelling Mayweather a ‘pussy’ on his social media accounts, whilst those predicting the former pound for pound king would never venture anywhere near the five-minute round code have seemingly been proven right.

Some of Mayweather’s own fighters have been speculating whether the move could be on at some point though, with J’Leon Love telling one fan on Twitter there was a chance it could happen.

Speculation regarding any sort of return to action for Mayweather has never been far away throughout the 40 year-olds multiple retirements and moving to the UFC is seemingly just that for the moment.

With Floyd Mayweather though, you can never second guess his next move.
