Eddie Hearn opens up on ‘strange relationship’ with Tyson Fury

Singing to Eminem’s ‘Without Me’ hit, Fury said, ‘F*** You, Eddie!’ replacing Marshall Mathers’ words, ‘F*** You, Debbie’ in a direct slant aimed at Hearn’s offer to help him cut through red tape in order to fight again.

Fury managed to cut a deal with the UK Anti-Doping Agency to backdate a two-year ban for adverse steroid findings and Hearn has opened up on his dealings with the 29 year-old ahead of a potential blockbuster with Anthony Joshua in 2018.

“I’ve got a strange relationship with Tyson Fury,” Hearn explained to Sky Sports.

“When I see him we have a really nice time together and I almost think he likes me. Then I looked at his Instagram and he’s telling me otherwise.”

On how far talks have gone over Joshua, Hearn added: “We’ve had a couple of texts backward and forwards about his idea of how a deal should work. He wants a lot more than a 50/50 split, he’s already told me.

“Certainly that’s a fight that’s on everybody’s minds right now. But politics aside, I think everyone knows that fights got to happen,” pointed out Hearn.

A warm-up or two are needed in order for Fury to shake off obvious ring rust, although the likeliness of the lineal king taking up Hearn’s offer of facing Dillian Whyte and Tony Bellew are virtually zero.

Fights with David Price or Shannon Briggs have been mentioned by Fury himself, whilst new WBA ‘regular’ title holder Manuel Charr could also have a target on his back in the coming months.
