The 29 year-old has his license revoked due to an ongoing investigation by the UK Anti-Doping Agency but has now cleared up the matter after pleading guilty and accepting a backdated two-year ban.
Fury is hoping to fight in the spring following a considerable absence but won’t know if his application is approved until after Christmas.
Cousin Hughie, who was also subjected to the suspension which expired at midnight last night, is free to resume his career immediately.
“The British Boxing Board of Control acknowledges United Kingdom Anti-Doping’s decision in relation to Tyson and Hughie Fury,” said a BBBofC statement handed to WBN.
“Hughie Fury has no outstanding matters with the British Boxing Board of Control at this time.
“Tyson Fury’s boxing license suspension will be considered by the Stewards of the Board in January,” they added.
Upon reaching an agreement with UKAD to cease all pending matters, Fury has targeted Anthony Joshua’s world titles but will need at least a couple of warm-up fights to get into a position to challenge.
‘AJ’ has ruled the division since Fury’s demise in the wake of defeating Wladimir Klitschko, although any encounter would be more likely to happen in the summer of 2019.
