Super-trim Miguel Cotto weighs lightest in eight years for final bow

The 37 year-old hit the scales at 151 and one-half pounds, his lightest since moving up from welterweight as far back as 2009.

His opponent, Sadam Ali – a predominant 147 pounder himself, scaled 153 for his debut at the limit.

Saturday’s HBO World Championship Boxing® telecast begins at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT.

Opening the telecast from Madison Square Garden in New York City is Rey Vargas defending his title against Oscar Negrete in a 12-round super bantamweight fight.

In the main event of the evening, future hall of famer Cotto defends his WBO junior middleweight title in a 12-round battle against challenger Ali.
