Joseph Parker entering conditional fight contract with Lucas Browne

On one hand, Parker’s team raised a good point about Joshua’s apparent weakness, although their willingness to drop down from 40% to 35% so easily didn’t do them any favors.

The ball is now firmly in the court of Joshua and promoter Eddie Hearn to call the shots, whilst Duco are set to agree back-up terms with Aussie puncher Lucas Browne incase a unification collapses.

“We are entering a conditional contract with Lucas Browne as we speak,” explained Duco before outling other considerations on the table.

“We still have lucrative offers from China and Russia in the works but If Joshua is willing to unify on fair terms then Parker fights him.”

Yesterday, Duco were adamant Parker has the better chin and Joshua needs to recognize his value to the fight.

“Parker has a granite chin whereas Joshua may have a glass jaw,” said Duco. “Joshua has been dropped numerous times.

“It’s the worst keep secret in British boxing but no one really talks about too much. Perhaps it’s because Hearn and Joshua are quite powerful in the sport. It’s like the emperor’s new clothes.

“Parker is the opposite to Joshua because he has granite chin and has never been dropped ever, as an amateur, a professional or in sparring.

“He’s has also beaten hard men like Carlos Takam and Andy Ruiz.

“Our job is to show British fans Joseph Parker is a genuine world champion, that Joshua cant unify without him.

“To Joshua, it’s for the opportunity to test his own chin and we’ll let you keep 65% of the profit so there are no excuses,” they added.

Parker v Browne could take place in March should Joshua and Hearn decide against offering the New Zealander what he wants, with the prospective challenger already confirming he’s signed his part of the conditional deal.
