Mike Tyson is actually one of the names you may not need to explain to anybody who was born in the 60, 70s, 80s, and 90s.

It is very hard to find a man who holds the type of legendary status he held during his boxing days. In fact, he was one of the greatest boxers that ever lived. However, just like many other celebrities of his category, he had his high and low moments, and did not end as many would have loved him to.

Tyson started showing signs of brilliance in the sports when he defeated Joe Cortez and Kelton Brown at the Junior Olympic Games in 1981 and 1982 respectively.  However, he couldn’t get to the games in 1984 because Henry Tillman who went ahead to win the gold in the heavyweight category defeated him twice at the trials.

Tysons senior professional career started with a fight against Hector Mercedes on March 6, 1985. He defeated the opponent in a knockout in the very first round, announcing himself to the world as the next big thing. In his first full year as a professional boxer, Tyson fought 28 times and won 26 of those. So, picking him to win fights seemed like playing sure pokies online. But the great thing is that he won 16 of those fights just in the first round, and he became a household name in the world of boxing. He went ahead to fight other boxers like Marvis Frazier, Mitch Green, Jesse Ferguson, David Jaco and James Tillis.

He won back to back bouts and this brought the paparazzi to his domain, branding him the future heavyweight champion. But the fight that did great things to his image at this moment was the match against Jesse Ferguson who he defeated at the sixth round after breaking his nose at the fifth round.

One of the greatest records of his career was the history of winning 22 consecutive matches before his 20th birthday. Among the 22, he won 21 through knockouts. When Tyson was 4 months older than 20 years, he made history. He defeated Trevor Berbick in a second round knockout and snapped the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight title from him to become the youngest ever heavyweight champion.

Tyson later went ahead to win the World Boxing Association title by beating James Smith. Within this period, Mike Tyson dreamt of fighting every major heavyweight champion there is. His next big win was against Pinklon Thomas in the sixth round. He also defeated Tony Tucker in a fight that lingered till the twelfth round, and the win gave him the International Boxing Federation title. This gave him a total of three titles in single year, including the WBC, WBA and IBF titles. Betting on Tyson to win matches at this time became even more assured than betting on a professional to win pokies online real money here.

Tyrell Biggs, who won the 1984 Olympic gold medal, was the next stop, and he defeated him. By 1984, he was on top of the ranking in the world of boxing, and he fought names like Michael Spinks, Tony Tubbs, Larry Holmes, and James, ‘Bonecrusher’ Smith. But he got to the apex of his performances when he defeated Spinks after 91 seconds in the first round, in a fight that was expected to be very hard.

However, around 1988, 1989, Tyson witnessed a massive decline due to professional and personal issues. Sacking his managers and changing his boxing style had a negative impact on him. Though he went ahead to record victories against Frank Bruno and Carl ‘The Truth’ Williams, Buster Douglas defeated him in 1990.

He went ahead to record some wins in the next year against Henry Tillman, Alex Stewart and Donovan Ruddock. But his arrest for the rape of Desiree Washington, Miss Black Rhode Island in 1991, his conviction, and sentence dealt a lasting blow on his career.
