Lucas Browne: Hughie Fury looked like sh**, I’d fight him in UK after November

Fury, 23, lost to Joseph Parker for the WBO version on Saturday night at Manchester Arena and named a rematch with the New Zealander or a battle with Browne as his ideal next move.

Upon hearing Fury’s intentions, Browne has since given his retort by saying: “I’m under the impression the (Parker v Fury) rematch isn’t coming off,” said Browne.

“(Right now) I’m going to be booked in for a decent fight in November, so any time after that my friend.

“You won’t be able to run for twelve rounds and me not catch you, that’s for sure. You can be a cat all you want in the ring and not want to get hit, but I guarantee I’ll cut you off, land one and it will be over.

“I’m looking forward to getting over to the UK to start bashing the UK fighters. By all means, get on to (my promoter, Ricky) Hatton and let’s do this. I’m very excited about this one, good fun.

Asked by World Boxing News for his opinion on the decision in the Parker v Fury fight, which has courted some controversy, Browne added: “Parker won for sure. Fury looked like sh** and ran like a cat!”

Browne is set to fight in his home country once again in the coming weeks, but is already ranked highly with a section of the governing bodies and could see Fury as an ideal route to landing another title chance.
