Eubank Jr. was at Mayweather’s Gym in Las Vegas during the build-up to the Conor McGregor fight and in the aftermath was filmed being trained by Mayweather’s father Floyd Sr. in impressive pad work clips.
Yildirim, who faces Eubank Jr. on October 7 in Stuttgart for a place in the World Boxing Super Series semi-finals, is un-flinching when it comes to the IBO title holder’s training methods and is hopeful the Brighton man meets him for a tear-up in the center of the ring.
“What is Chris going to learn (spending time) there, apart from hide-and-seek? I like Mayweather, he is a special guy. But Eubank is not Mayweather,” said Yildirim.
“Seriously, what is he going to learn from a welterweight, to run away for 12 rounds? The fans want a fight, I want a fight! If he is man enough, me versus Chris will be a good fight.”
On securing home comforts in his adopted Germany, the undefeated Yildirim added: “I am very happy that the fight is in Stuttgart because for me it is like a second Turkey.
“Training is going great, I know what I have to do. I have been training really hard already, I am fully focused on this. Chris should be too,” he said.
The winner of the bout will be up against the eventual victor of the all-UK quarter-final between George Groves and Jamie Cox, with Eubank starting as favorite to book a two-belt unification with whomever is the WBA ruler come October 14.
