Watch: Floyd Mayweather has a shock theory as to why Manny Pacquiao’s career declined

Mayweather attributed defeats to Timothy Bradley, Juan Manuel Marquez, himself since 2012, and more recently Jeff Horn, to the potential PED row that has followed Pacquiao for some years.

Without directy call Pacquiao a cheat, Mayweather was very choosy with his words as the ex-pound for pound king stuck the knife in a little more.

“I was never scared of Manny Pacquiao,” Mayweather told Fight Hub TV. “I’ve never said that he took anything, but when certain pieces from Manny Pacquiao’s team left his team, he was no longer fighting the same. That’s all I’m going to say.”

Asked what he thought of Pacquiao’s performance against Horn as the 38 year-old lost his welterweight title in controversial fashion, Mayweather added: “Anything can happen, that’s why I can’t overlook Conor McGregor.

‘Money’ battles UFC title holder McGregor on August 26 in a fight that has been widely criticised in boxing quarters, whilst Pacquiao has a big decision to make on his own future.

Retirement is certainly an option, although the ‘Pacman’ has the opportunity to envoke a rematch clause and battle the Australian again this year.

It’s thought the clause is only for another fight down under, although Pacquiao may want any second helping to take place in his native Philippines as he aims for revenge.
