Roach on Pacquiao’s big fight: (Mikey) Garcia offered, Crawford possible but we want Mayweather!

Pacquiao is in training for what looks a straightforward victory on the first leg of his world tour against Jeff Horn, after which Roach has promised a massive battle against one of the bigger names.

Speaking to Jenna J at On the Ropes Radio this week, Roach outlined an interesting offer to face a current world title holder and spoke once again of a potential battle with super-lightweight king Terence Crawford.

“What happens in the fight will determine where Manny is in his career right now,” Roach explained to Jenna J on the show.

“Mikey Garcia’s brother came to see me a couple of weeks ago and challenged me and asked if Manny would fight Mikey Garcia. I love that fight but I don’t have final say in that. We’re looking for a big fight after this one, but we need to get this guy (Horn) out of the way first.”

On how Pacquiao is looking in training, Roach was confident his man is still at the very highest level, even at 38, and believes the ‘PacMan’ could still be a threat should Floyd Mayweather come calling.

“He’s still very good, his work ethic is great,” said Roach. “He works hard for every fight, he doesn’t take anyone lightly and he works really hard. His work ethic is still like it was the first day I met him.

“We’re going to go out there and I think (we’ll) demolish this guy, which is what we need to do.

“Garcia is a big name, Crawford is a big name. There’s some really good guys out there, but of course, Mayweather is still at the top of the list I think.

“There’s a lot of good guys out there for us to fight and I think Manny can still contend with all of those guys,” added the multi-time Coach of the Year.
