Watch: Sincere Tyson Fury vows he’ll lose over 100 pounds in weight and return to conquer again

The 27 year-old, who has ballooned to over 26 stone (365 pounds) since defeating Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, has been training alongside middleweight title holder Billy Joe Saunders in Marbella this week.

Despite doubters predicting failure for Fury in his attempts to drop the weight and fight again, ‘2 Fast’ is adamant he’s for real and he’ll lose over 100 pounds to prove it.

“My life my choice. No matter the obstacles they might put in my way I will return to boxing and win back the world title,” said Fury in a poignant Instagram post.

“For the first time in 16 months, I’m certain about my future. I will lose the 7.5 stones and turn my life around. I’ve been through hell and back. There is nothing I can’t do.”

A targeted date this July may be a bridge too far for Fury at the moment, although a comeback in 2017 isn’t out of the question should the one-time unified king remain focused on the task at hand.

Still holding the Ring Magazine belt seems to be spurring Fury on, although once Anthony Joshua and Wladimir Klitschko fight this weekend, the lineal tag he coveted so much will no longer be relevant.

It seems the furore around Joshua v Klitschko has been the catalyst for Fury to sort himself out, and should he get back to action this year, the sport will only be better for it in the long run.
