Ex-champ Tyson Fury begins training for comeback

Former world champion Tyson Fury has begun training for what could become a sensational comeback to heavyweight boxing.

The 28 year-old decided to step away from boxing due to drug, alcohol, and mental issues but is ready to return after almost a year and a half out.

Initially eyeing a May 13 date, which may not be possible because of red tape with the UK Boxing Board, Fury hopes to actively influence the sport as soon as possible.

Updating his recovery, Fury also had a dig at those media publications that were negative regarding his excess poundage.

Tyson Fury trains for comeback

“I’m starting a fresh start, letting go of the past and concentrating on the future. [I’ve] got to keep moving forward,” said Fury.

“I’ve moved on from the dark and scary place I’ve been living. If I can beat depression, then I can beat anything. The hardest fight of my life!

“Talk about being a fat man. I’m 25 stones or 350 lbs, but getting the weight off has never been a problem. Ask [trainer and uncle] Peter Fury [as] we done it 24 times.”

Upon posting the message on social media, Fury then went out for a run and seemed a happier, more positive individual ahead of his anticipated return to the ring.

In an article this week, WBN speculated which opponent could be in the opposite corner as unlikely rumors of bouts with Deontay Wilder, Anthony Joshua, Wladimir Klitschko, or Tony Bellew continue.

Fury may need one or two contests to shake off the ring rust and find his feet again, and WBN has listed ten realistic foes who would be perfect for the job at hand.
