Fury, 28, conquered the formidable Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015, but struggled to deal with the enormity of his victory and has since been enjoying spending his biggest career paycheck to date.
Trainer and uncle Peter Fury has stated he believes a comeback is on the cards in 2017, something Haye is hopeful comes to fruition in the near future.
“I hope he does (make a return). I think heavyweight boxing is more fun with him in it than not in it,” Haye exclusively told World Boxing News.
“I always want what’s best for boxing and he’s a big character. He’s always screaming and shouting all kinds of nonsense, so it’s better if he’s in boxing.”
Asked whether he thinks negotiations could happen with Team Fury on the back of two collapsed fights in the past, Haye was in the dark but believes it would be something to pursue when the time comes.
“I genuinely have no idea (whether Tyson Fury or his team would be willing to negotiate). The last thing I need to be worried about is him. He’s got enough issues going on,” he said.
“I’m not sure in reality if he’s even licensed to fight. If he does get a license, it would be something to talk about, for sure. But at the moment, it’s not really worth paying it too much mind.
“He’s got enough issues outside of the ring to contend with,” added Haye.
‘The Hayemaker’ is currently finalizing preparations for his encounter with Tony Bellew on March 4 in London as the ex-cruiserweight king meet the current WBC 200 pound champion at The O2 Arena.
A win for Haye, which the bookmakers fully expect to happen, sets the 36 year-old up for some huge bouts in the summer and beyond, against the likes of Anthony Joshua, Deontay Wilder or indeed a returning Fury.
