Vitali Klitschko’s son, 16, lucky not to lose finger whilst working as alligator keeper in Miami

The youngster had been helping out experienced keepers at the Everglades US National Park as part of his work with the Klitschko Foundation when an alligator sliced his hand.

Posting a snap of his injuries via social media, Yegor-Daniel made light of what could have been a much worse incident.

“Rule number one when working as an alligator keeper, if Erwin the alligator wants food, you give him food. I even have blue stitches,” said Klitschko’s son.

Father Vitali now works in politics since hanging up his gloves in 2012 on the back of a stellar ring career as his son plans a life without getting punched in the face.

Currently serving as the Mayor of Kiev, Klitschko, 45, lost just twice in 47 professional bouts and was undefeated for almost a decade following his final bout against Manuel Charr.

Klitschko’s brother Wladimir is preparing to battle Anthony Joshua in the UK this spring as the Klitschko family bid to regain a boxing world title for the first time since 2015.

Prior to Tyson Fury’s win over Wladimir, you’d have to go as far back as 2004 to find a time without one of the Klitschko brothers as a top division ruler.

Joshua will be hoping to stop that from ever happening again on April 29.
