Arum has been vocal in the media expressing his desire to secure a venue for a clash with Horn, which the Top Rank boss stated would be the first of what would be Pacquiao’s last year as a pro.
Pacquiao has now spoken out on his own future and says he could fight on after 2017, whilst also confirmed no talks about a fight with Horn had been held with Arum.
“I think I can do 3, 4 more fights. Two years maybe,” Pacquiao told Boyet Sison and Freddie Webb on the ‘Fast Break’ radio program.
“I don’t have a vice. I don’t drink and I don’t even drink soft drinks. I don’t like eating fatty food. I don’t eat pork. It’s about being disciplined.”
On his role in the Senate and a potential fight with Australian Horn, Pacquiao added: “I don’t take my work as a lawmaker for granted. I’m excited to be a legislator and senator, but boxing is my passion. I feel down when I think about not being in boxing anymore. I tell myself I can still fight, I feel strong, so why don’t I just continue boxing?
“I have made no final decision on my opponent as we have not concluded negotiations. We have not talked with Bob Arum and we have not talked about my next opponent, “he clarified.
These latest comments are sure to add more confusion to where Pacquiao will eventually go next as the Filipino Senator attempts to seal a future revenge mission himself with Juan Manuel Marquez.
‘Pacman’ has asked the Department of Tourism for P3 billion ($60m) to help set up a fifth clash with Marquez, which Pacquiao wants to happen in the final quarter of 2017, around the same time Arum has plans for a massive bout with Terence Crawford.
