UFC boss makes counter McGregor offer, Mayweather rules out fight

Mayweather had explained an offer of $15m was made to the Irishman to enter the squared circle in a massive cross-codes Pay-Per-View clash, which has since been countered by McGregor’s handler at UFC.

“First of all let’s cut the B.S. right from the get go,” Dana White said on The Herd.

“(Mayweather) hasn’t talked to anybody about this fight. You’re talking to somebody about the fight, you’re talking to me. I’m the promoter. Conor McGregor is under contract to me.

“I’ll tell you what Floyd, here’s a real offer and I’m the guy, I’m the guy that can actually make the offer and I’m actually making a real offer,” he said.

“We pay you $25m, we’ll pay Conor $25m and then we’ll talk about pay-per-view at a certain number. There’s a real offer.”

After subsequently being bombarded with questions at the Badou Jack v James DeGale weigh-in on Friday, Mayweather felt the need to quash the McGregor talk by reiterating his retirement from the sport.

“Different days you feel different ways,” Mayweather said.

“Today I feel a little different from how I felt yesterday. Today there’s 100 percent chance I want to stay away from the sport of boxing.

“I’m older. Next month I’ll be 40. I gave boxing a lot, and boxing gave me a lot. I had a great career. It’s time to help other fighters accomplish their dreams,” he added.

‘Money’ went as far as branding White ‘a comedian’ for his offer of $25m each, which looks to have put the final nail in the coffin of any mutual negotiations between the pair.
