Carter, who’s trained by former British, European and World title challenger John Murray, looks to set the record straight on February 18 in Manchester.
The Gorton giant opened up about his pro debut and what boxing fans can expect from the Manchester man on February 18.
“I didn’t work hard enough in my pro debut,” said Carter. “I felt I was in control of the fight and took my foot off the gas. It was a lesson learned and I’m putting it all behind me now.”
“For this fight, John Murray and Steve Furness, who looks after me, have put a rocket up my rear end. No corners are being cut in this camp. I don’t intend of letting the fight go to points after what happened last time.”
“This fight isn’t going the distance, someone’s getting knocked out.”
The 6 foot 5 Mancunian monster, who notably carried the Queen Mother’s coffin whilst serving in the British Army, and who has just become a father for fourth time, has managed to become full time as a pro. This transition and new addition to Carter’s family has made a visible change in the Manchester native. Carter expanded on his current situation.
“I’ve gone full time as a pro thanks to Apax in Manchester. They are helping me fulfil my ambitions in boxing and I can’t them enough. My brother Nathan is also helping me with strength and conditioning and that is really making a difference for this fight.”
“My supporters are brilliant. I can’t thank them enough for the support they give me. I’ve sold 300 tickets and I want to put on a performance for everyone who’s coming out to support me!”
The heavyweight continued, “Becoming a father again is just as magical as the first time. With my fourth daughter being born I’ve got to set an example for my girls, especially my eldest daughter Alexis who’s just had her first amateur fight. I want to make them proud on February 18!”
