Exclusive: Amir Khan keeps getting KO’d, then thinking he runs boxing! – Kermit Cintron

The 37 year-old, who won all four of his bouts in 2016, says Khan continues to be beaten and knocked out badly, but remains in the forefront of the rankings and in line for the big fights.

Cintron hasn’t lost in his last seven contests, dating back to a fifth round loss to Canelo Alvarez in 2011, having moved back down from 154 to 147 pounds – to what the Puerto Rican believes is his best division.

‘The Killer’ has now put Khan and the likes of Juan Manuel Marquez in his crosshairs as Cintron aims to secure a massive fight in 2017 having well and truly blown off the cobwebs of a two year absence last year.

“I just want to shut Amir Khan up! The guy keeps getting knocked out and still talks like he’s the greatest fighter ever,” Cintron exclusively told World Boxing News.

“Let’s face it, Khan thinks he runs boxing. He also thinks he’s better than everyone in his weight class. Well I’m in the same weight class and I want to fight Amir Khan, but does he want to fight me?

“I’m asking him; ‘Khan don’t ignore my call, let’s make a fight happen!’

“We are all fighters and real fighters don’t back down from getting called out. Accept my call and let’s make it happen this year,” he added.

Khan has been linked to Kell Brook, Miguel Cotto or the winner of Danny Garcia v Keith Thurman already this year, after recovering from surgery to repair a long-term hand injury.

The Briton is expected to be back in action sometime in the spring, although Cintron faces been overlooked by Khan who is still on course to contest a world title due to his high ranking with the WBC.
