Exclusive: Sanchez warns Jacobs, ‘Nobody at 160 will last the distance with GGG!’

At 34, Golovkin is currently at the peak of his powers, having stopped 33 of 36 opponents in assembling a 92 percent knockout ratio and all but cleaning up at 160 pounds bar one title belt.

Jacobs currently holds a lesser version of the crown, although Sanchez is pleased the fight has finally been agreed following some stalling – in order for Golovkin to meet his obligations and move on to a potential unification.

“We are happy that we have a fight and we are getting this mandatory out of the way,” Sanchez exclusively told World Boxing News.

“I’m hoping Danny Jacobs is true to his word and comes to fight. Everything about him and the things he has said – indicate that we will have a barnburner for as long it lasts on March 18.

“I’m afraid it won’t be good for him though as nobody at 160 will last the distance with Golovkin.

“If they at least try to win, it could be better but I’m afraid he won’t see the end of this fight,” he added.

Jacobs, 29, also possesses an eye-catching knockout percentage having dispatched 29 of 32 wins, against a solitary defeat when blasted out by talented Russian Dmitry Pirog in the summer of 2010.

Beginning as underdog like all of Golovkin’s recent opponents, Jacobs faces an uphill battle to dethrone ‘GGG’ – and in the process, avoiding a second reverse which would also mean his own reign as champion comes to an end.
