The 38 year-old was linked to challenging for the super-lightweight belts currently in Crawford’s possession, although the ‘Pacman’ is now looking at staging a contest outside his usual Las Vegas stage.
Pacquiao fought twice in Macau, China back in 2013 and 2014, whilst eight of the last ten bouts involving the Filipino Senator have taken place in the boxing capital of the world in Nevada.
Despite Michael Koncz recently outlining Pacquiao’s demands for a possible move down to 140 in April against Crawford, Arum says any clash with the Omaha native will be saved for later in the year.
“There’ll be no Pacquiao-Crawford fight in the first to six months of the year definitely,” Arum told The Manila Times this week.
“Only if the fight will be in the United States but we’re not planning the next fight in the United States so we’re also not planning on Crawford now.
“I think Manny Pacquiao is more than just a boxer because he is representing the Philippines. It’s good for him to fight in places around the world same way Muhamad Ali fought so many fights outside of the United States.”
Opponents now being linked include Australian Jeff Horn, former training partner Amir Khan and top-ranked contenders David Avanesyan and Errol Spence Jr.
