Marco Huck defends IBO title with decision win over Dmytro Kucher

A messy affair that seemed closer than the judges saw it end with Huck having his hand raised courtesy of 119-109 and 117-111 twice totals from the officials.

Huck, 32, has now won two on the spin since losing to Krzysztof Glowacki in what would have been a record breaking triumph and ‘The Cap’n’ stated afterwards that he wants to face the best fighters out there.

As Glowacki lost his WBO strap to the exceptional Oleksandr Usyk earlier this year, a rematch between the two seems a distinct possibility with Huck once again being the one to put his belt on the line.

With the win, Huck moves to 40-3-1.

On the undercard at the Tui Arena, light heavyweight Shefat Isufi scored a third round victory over Daniel Urbanski, whilst Roman Belaev retired Giorgi Kadaria in five rounds at the welterweight limit.

Heavyweight Hussein Muhamed pushed to 5-0 by halting David Gegeshidze in two, whilst middleweight Besir Ay debuted with a four-round decision win over Grzegorz Sikorski.

Christian Pawlak stopped Ali Beqiray in the second session of their contest as the experienced light-heavyweight made it 29 wins from his 38 fights.
