Floyd Sr. hopes Mayweather goes for 50-0, threatens to KO McGregor himself

Mayweather Jr. told reporters at the Badou Jack v James DeGale press conference last week that he is happy and content to stay out of the ring, even citing the sad plight of Muhammad Ali as one of his reasons for getting out with all his faculties intact.

Given the fact that Mayweather has hardly been hit during his career, Senior’s want for another fight seems quite plausible as the trainer eyes the overtaking of Rocky Marciano’s long-standing 49-0 retirement benchmark.

“I think it’ll be good if he does 50 and 0,” Senior told FightHype.com. “It takes him out the category that Rocky Marciano was in and it’ll probably be another hundred some years before that happens again.”

Another hot topic with the Mayweathers in a potential crossover fight with double UFC Champion Conor McGregor, something Senior clearly isn’t a fan of and gave a startling comment about whilst in the vicinity of Roy Jones Jr.

“If he knows what’s good for ass, he better go somewhere and sit down, especially if he talking about messing with the Joy Boy (Roy Jones),” he said “If they want me to fight him, I’ll fight him. I betcha I’ll knock his ass out. I would put him to sleep and I’ll put it on his ass for real,” added Mayweather Sr.

At 49-0 and fast approaching his 40th birthday, Mayweather only has a short window of opportunity to make his mind up and has already been offered the chance to rematch Manny Pacquiao in Las Vegas next May.
