Exclusive: Sulaiman praises Chocolatito, names vacant WBC flyweight title match-up

The current pound for pound king has decided to stay at the 115 pound limit following victory over Carlos Cuadras recently and is set to rematch the Mexican following an entertaining battle.

“Roman Gonzalez conquered the WBC super flyweight championship as a reigning Flyweight champion,” Sulaiman explained to WBN. “He has confirmed that he has decided to remain in super flyweight and is honourably relinquishing the flyweight title.

“The vacant title will be contested by the #1 contender Sor Rungvisai from Thailand and # 2 contender Jesus Hernandez from Mexico.

“Chocolatito is a proud WBC champion and is looking forward to fighting a rematch with former champion Carlos Cuadras,” he added.

The World Boxing Council have since announced the beginning of free negotiations between Nawaphon Sor Rungvisai and Hernández.

If an agreement is not reached between both parties, the fight will have a purse bid on Friday, October 21st at the WBC Office in Mexico City.
