Fury crisis as Klitschko fight is off, belts and career in jeopardy

Several rumours circulated on Friday that the rematch would not go ahead as planned on October 29 in Manchester, leading to Fury’s team confirming fears.

Fury now faces being stripped of his trio of belts ahead of an upcoming UKAD hearing over a failed drug test in 2015.

The pair were due to meet on July 9 before Fury pulled the plug prior to embarking on a Euro 2016 pub crawl, whilst the unified king was a recent no-show at the press conference citing car trouble as the problem.

Since winning the world crown in November, speculation has been rife that Fury is ready to cash out his career and take the original paycheck.

WBN had contacted parties of both fighters with Klitschko handler’s KMG passing the buck to Hennessy Sports on the situation. A source close to Fury also refused to comment on the situation.

Furthermore, KMG have apologised to WBN for being unable to fully clarify the situation as it stands, but despite this, WBN already believed the fight was off.

Where Fury goes from here after he previously called rival David Haye out on cancelling fights remains to be seen. In theory, we may never see Fury in the ring again.
