Hearn rules out September Joshua / GGG v Eubank Jr. double-header

The 26 year-old bludgeoned previously unbeaten American Dominic Breazeale into a seventh round submission on Saturday night and stated in the immediate aftermath of his desire to take a short break from the sport to recharge his batteries.

With a massive encounter between Gennady Golovkin and Chris Eubank Jr. in the pipeline for September, WBN inquired as to whether there was any chance of Joshua featuring in a world title double-header.

“Anthony Joshua won’t be returning until November or December,” Hearn told World Boxing News on Monday.

‘AJ’ is set to relax and take it easy for a while after claiming Commonwealth, British and world titles, plus making a defence of the IBF belt in the last nine months, before eyeing up another massive fight upon his return.

The likes of unified king Tyson Fury, heavy hitter David Haye, New Zealander and mandatory challenger Joseph Parker, WBC champion Deontay Wilder and the rejuvenated David Price have all been mentioned as possibilities for the 2012 Olympic gold medallist, who is now 17-0 with 17 knockouts and rightly considered to be one of the most dangerous heavyweights on the planet.
