EBU News: Walsh v Ceylan / Amar v Stieglitz / Tatli v Morales / Nieto faces Gonzalez in July, not Daws

The 30 year-old, who is currently the British champion and one win away from claiming the Lonsdale belt outright, will know more about his fate when purse bids are undertaken at the EBU offices on July 13 of this year.

Ceylan, 27, has only one blemish on his 18-fight record, having put right a debated draw with Cristian Montilla in February 2015 on the back of a split decision result six months earlier.

At lightweight, Edis Tatli is set for a home defense of his championship against Cristian Morales on August 13 as negotiations continue with mandatory challenger Manuel Lanica.

Moving up to 175 pounds, former world super middleweight title holder Robert Stieglitz is being lined up to take on Mehdi Amar for his version of the championship.

Finally, the much-anticipated super lightweight rematch between Ruben Nieto and Lenny Daws has been temporarily called off as the Spaniard puts his belt up against Nicolas Gonzalez on July 23 in Madrid.

Nieto and Daws were being proposed for a return on the Fury v Klitschko undercard following an entertaining first battle, although that fight fell through and the contest is now on the backburner until the autumn – at the earliest.
