Watch: Eubank Jr shocked by Blackwell comments, offers UK belt

Eubank defeated Blackwell in London via tenth round stoppage, putting the Trowbridge man in a coma for six days as a result of a bleed on his brain.

Speaking to Good Morning Britain the day after Blackwell had criticised Eubank and his father’s conduct whilst he lay in hospital, the current Matchroom fighter said that he was shocked at the level of anger aimed at him but that he would still like to offer ‘Bang Bang’ his British title as a token of good will.

Blackwell’s former promoter Mick Hennessy has already labelled the move an ’empty gesture’ and ‘opportunism’ by Eubank Jr as the fighter doesn’t own the strap until he makes three defences.

Prior to the pair appearing on the ITV programme, it had been thought that no bad blood still existed between them despite visible hatred in the build-up to the contest.

Twitter exchanges had been forthcoming between Blackwell and Eubank, although it seems the former is not ready to forgive the Brighton man, nor his ex-world champion dad, for some of the behaviour surrounding the whole ordeal.
