VADA report on Lucas Browne test, decongestant Clenbuterol found

Australian Browne won the title with a late stoppage win over Ruslan Chagaev in Grozny on March 5, and just over two weeks later, VADA have informed those involved in the fight of their findings.

“This letter is to advise you that the ‘A’ sample urine specimen number 2998060 collected from Lucas Browne … has been analyzed for anabolic agents, diuretics, beta-2 agonists and stimulants.

“The results of the analysis are as follows: Adverse. Urine specimen contains Clenbuterol,” read information obtained by ESPN on Monday.

According to Steriod.com, Clenbuterol is as follows: Clenbuterol Hydrochloride is a powerful bronchodilator that is used to treat breathing disorders like asthma. While it’s been extremely successful in such treatment plans it has never been approved by the U.S. FDA. It is, however, approved and used in most other countries around the world. Some speculate the only reason Clenbuterol has never been approved by the U.S. FDA is due to there being no need. There are several other related medications, very closely related that are already approved for U.S. use.

ClenBeyond treating breathing disorders, Clenbuterol is commonly used as a thermogenic. In fact, you will more than likely find more Clenbuterol use in fat loss plans than anywhere else. It is a very common fat burning tool used by many anabolic steroid users. It is a long standing favorite among competitive bodybuilders and other physique athletes during contest preparation. However, it is also used by non-steroid users for its fat loss properties. You do not have to use anabolic steroids to use this compound for fat loss. We only mention that because this has for some reason become a confusing point for some.

This means Browne is in hot water with the World Boxing Association and could be stripped of the belt he impressively took from Chagaev to make a name for himself in the division.

A mandatory clash with Fres Oquendo was already in the works for Browne, whilst the winner of Luis Ortiz v Alexander Ustinov was set to follow. Finally, had ‘Big Daddy’ come through those clashes, a massive event against Tyson Fury or Wladimir Klitschko was on the horizon for 2017.

All this lies in jeopardy for the likeable Hatton-promoted Browne, whose fate lies in the testing of his ‘B’ sample.
