Keith Thurman expected to be training ‘within weeks’

The collision caused the postponement of Thurman’s anticipated title defense against former US amateur team-mate Shawn Porter on March 12, which is now expected to be rescheduled this month.

“Keith is following his doctor’s directions and going through treatment and resting,” media representative Hanna Bolte exclusively told World Boxing News.

“We are anticipating that Keith Thurman will be cleared to get back into camp in the coming weeks.

“It is a short-term injury and we also anticipate a rescheduled date for his fight with Shawn Porter soon,” she added.

Thurman had been in the shape of his life and looking forward to putting his impressive undefeated run on the line against Porter at the Mohegan Sun when the incident happened in mid-February.

Although bruised and sore, Thurman just needs time to recuperate from the setback and regain his strength before ‘One Time’ can get back to what he does best and further enhance his growing reputation.

The 27 year-old has so far racked up 22 knockouts from 26 victories as a professional and is widely regarded as one of the best 147 pound fighters on the planet.
