Dina Thorlsund’s March 19 opponent pulls out

The promoter’s prophecy comes following the announcement that Thorslund’s opponent Johanna Rydberg has withdrawn from their scheduled contest on March 19 at the Albertslund Musikteatret.

‘’I think Johanna must have got cold feet,’’ explains Sauerland. ‘’The contracts were signed and the fight was announced when I got a call from her team pulling her out. It’s a shame, as I know the fans were looking forward to it, but perhaps it’s not surprising given Dina’s reputation.’’

Sauerland is now looking for new opponent for Thorslund, and has revealed his intent to match the 22 year-old hard in order to prepare her for a future World title challenge.

‘’Dina is a very special talent,’’ said Sauerland. ‘’She has the ability and the power to go a long way in this sport. After just five pro fights she has already shown a lot of potential, and I believe that this time next year she will be World Champion.

‘’We wont rush her, but to make this happen, we need to match her hard, and this begins on March 19. We’re already looking at few different options and plan to announce a new opponent soon.’’

Thorslund fights on the undercard of Micki Nielsen’s WBC International Cruiserweight title defence against former World title challenger Mirko Larghetti on March 19 at the Albertslund Musikteatret in Copenhagen. Tickets are available online via www.billetlugen.dk or by calling (+45) 70 263 267.
