Fight updates: Chagaev v Browne; Yamanaka v Solis; Kimura v Lopez

Opponent Lucas Browne, a regular Twitter user, was duped into thinking Chagaev had pulled out by guesswork from a ‘boxing page’ looking to make a name for themselves by posting false information.

WBN will not name those responsible so to not give any further notoriety, although can confirm that the much-anticipated clash will go ahead as planned confirmed by Browne following an unnecessary wild goose chase.

In news confirmed by the WBC, the pride of Japan Shinsuke Yamanaka, the World Boxing Council bantamweight champion, will face Venezuelan Liborio Solis (23-3-1, 10 KO), on March 4th at the Shimazu Arena in Kyoto, Japan.

The Champion, who has a record of 26 wins with 2 draws, comes into the fight following a defense against Panamanian, Anselmo “Chemito” Moreno in a very close match last September. Yamanaka has defended his belt in nine times so far.

On the same card, the WBC light flyweight champion Yu Kimura will make the first defense of his belt against Mexican Ganigan Lopez.

Kimura conquered the WBC belt after defeating then champion Pedro Guevara in a closely contested battle last year.
