Amir Khan combats social media hack as Twitter name is altered

Just two days after announcing the biggest fight of his life against Canelo Alvarez on May 7 in Las Vegas, Amir Khan has been the victim of social media hacking.

On Thursday, posts appeared picturing near-naked women, sexual positions, and celebrity gossip.

Khan’s original Twitter account had been switched and left with just two followers.

Usually going by the Twitter name ‘@AmirKingKhan,’ the handle read ‘@AmirKingKha1 as fans of the talented Briton was bombarded with random posts.

Khan, 29, apologized publicly as the feed went back to normal shortly. Help from Twitter and Facebook officials sorted out the mess.

The Bolton man is gearing up for a considerable challenge against WBC middleweight champion Canelo.

He’s moving up eight pounds in weight to take on one of the world’s best pound-for-pound fighters.
