Brook ‘very close’ to Bradley unification, eyes UK or Las Vegas

Fans were initially shocked to learn that Brook’s promoter Eddie Hearn was set to meet Canadian promoter Yvon Michel to thrash out a possible deal to fight mandatory Kevin Bizier, which WBN exclusively revealed last week.

‘The Special One’ has now suggested that the Bradley fight could happen first, potentially in America, and would have the blessing of all concerned as a unification always take precedent over any encounter with the number one contender.

“I’m an undefeated world champion and I want to be out there fighting the best in the welterweight division. That’s how I’ll prove I’m the best,” Brook told the Sheffield Express and Star.

“When I tell people what I’m going to do, I always back it up. I think we are very close to making the Bradley fight and I’m excited.

“I need this, something will get me more recognition and that means an opponent that will get the fans really talking about me.

“I don’t mind where it is, I’d prefer it to be over here but I could get up for a trip to Las Vegas as well. It’s a Catch 22 situation. Where does he want to get beat?”

Bradley defeated Jessie Vargas in the summer to reclaim his old belt for a second reign and has since stopped Brandon Rios impressively to retain the title.

‘Desert Storm’ would represent that huge name Brook’s loyal following require and is a decent alternative to the UK super-fight everybody wants opposite Amir Khan.
