Tim Bradley aims to do some damage with Teddy Atlas in his corner

The 32 year-old chose to split from long-term coach Joel Diaz on the back of his points win over Jessie Vargas in the summer and now faces rugged ex-lightweight world champion Brandon Rios on November 7.

Despite calls for a rematch with Vargas due to controversy at the end of their bout, Bradley says he’s not looking back, and with Atlas on side, wants to continue as world champion for a the considerable future.

“I am always willing to put it on the line as when Jessie Vargas hit me with that big shot I was ticked inside about it – but I was in control right through the final seconds of the fight,” said Bradley.

“We are moving now to Rios who is tough, rugged and dangerous. I know Rios is fired up and I know this is a tough fight for me. I need to stay focused and to choose when to battle. I know Rios is a tough guy, but I am tough too, and smarter.

“I am confident having Teddy Atlas with me. He has great boxing knowledge and I want that knowledge. Hopefully, we can do some damage together,” he added.

Bradley v Rios takes place at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada and should have the champion’s WBO 147 belt on the line once final approval comes from the World Boxing Organisation.
