Loeffler: GGG the fastest PPV debut, fans will get value for money

Golovkin, 33, puts his interim WBC, WBA and IBO titles on the line against IBF belt holder Lemieux on October 17 in New York and make his first appearance on the HBO price platform following a string of impressive knockout victories,

‘GGG’ boasts the best KO ratio in the business at the top level with a whopping 91% of his opponents hitting the canvas and Loeffler is sure Golovkin will provide his trademark ‘big drama show’ against the hard-hitting French-Canadian at Madison Square Garden.

“Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux – this is the kind of fight that fans respond to. Two middleweight titles on the line. This is a winner-take-all fight and that is what the fans like to see,” said Loeffler.

“This is Gennady’s first Pay-Per-View fight on HBO. He has fought on HBO eight times. He is the fastest rising fighter to make his debut in America and to make the transition to Pay-Per-View. This is the type of show where fans will get a lot of value for their money.

“This fight has one of the best co-main events (Roman Gonzalez v Brian Viloria) we’ve seen in recent times. It could be its own main event.

“This isn’t a one-sided promotion. These are two champions bringing their belts to the ring. For five years we tried to get another champion to fight Gennady Golovkin and David Lemieux is the first one to accept the challenge.”

Lemieux, who carries his own power courtesy of an 86% KO percentage, is stepping up to the plate in his very first defence having defeated Hassan N’Dam to claim the red belt back in June and could prove to be Golovkin’s toughest test to date.
