Jermain Taylor appears in court, eyes boxing return

Taylor is under psychological review for a series of peculiar events involving the 37 year-old, although as the tests were incomplete, ‘Bad Intentions’ will return next month to appear before Pulaski County Circuit Court Judge Leon Johnson.

One thing that was confirmed at the hearing was Taylor’s intention to fight again as attorney Hubert Alexander, who spoke on behalf of the recent IBF world title holder, stated that plans are in place for ring return in the future.

“We plan on boxing again, if that tells you something,” Alexander stated, according to Taylor’s local news source arkanasonline.com who have been close to the story since it broke.

A charge of battery, along with other firearms offences are hanging a cloud over Taylor in the twilight of his career, whilst the Little Rock native will be back in court on September 14 when his assessment should then be complete.

In the ring, Taylor is undefeated since 2009 and had enjoyed a renaissance period when reclaiming the world championship in 2014, although things quickly unravelled for the veteran pro who could face years locked up depending on the outcome.
