Galahad stripped of Commonwealth title after failed UKAD appeal

COMMONWEALTH SUPERBANTAMWEIGHT CHAMPIONSHIP

Following the dismissal of the appeal by Champion KID GALAHAD (England) against a decision of the UK Anti-Doping Agency to suspend his BBB of C Boxer’s Licence, and with the suspension applying until 19th September 2016, the Directors of the CBC have declared the Superbantamweight Championship vacant forthwith.

The Directors will approve the best match proposed by any promoter between 2 approved challengers, in accordance with usual CBC formalities, as being for the vacant Title.

VACANT HEAVY AND FLY TITLES

Undefeated Heavyweight prospects ANTHONY JOSHUA and GARY CORNISH meet for the vacant Heavyweight Championship in London on 12th September.
A week earlier (subject to final confirmation of date), THOMAS ASOMBA seeks to become Cameroon’s first Commonwealth Champion when he meets WALEED DIN in Rotherham for the vacant Flyweight Championship

COMMONWEALTH SECRETARIAT 50TH ANNIVERSARY

The Hon Secretary attended a garden party on 10th July in the gardens of Marlborough House, Pall Mall held to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the forming of the Commonwealth Secretariat, along with Commonwealth diplomats and dignitaries, and representatives of other Commonwealth accredited organizations.

The guests were served in the sunshine with champagne and other drinks, and feasted on the buffet bar provided, entertained by musical bands representing different Commonwealth countries. The event was hosted by HE Kamalesh Sharma, Commonwealth Secretary-General.
