WBC confirm Badou Jack v George Groves agreement reached

The WBC informed World Boxing News on Friday that all parties are in agreement which means an official announcement should be forthcoming imminently.

Below is the WBC super middleweight report from January to June released this week:

The mandatory challenger for world champion Anthony Dirrell of the U.S. is No. 1 ranked George Groves of the United Kingdom. Dirrell already has a voluntary defense scheduled for February, with the winner required to fight Groves in his next fight.

Dirrell lost the title to Badou Jack on April 24, 2015.

Badou Jack will fight George Groves for the mandatory defense and there is an agreement between the parties.

The WBC annual convention is the forum in which all divisions are reviewed and mandatory fights are ordered. The WBC has always held these meetings in an openly to the public and press and all results are registered officially. The WBC goes public with the status of each division.

The WBC believes this practice is transparent and must be known to public and press. We are proud of the administration of the WBC championships.

Jack v Groves is set to take place in the United States in the next few months.
